Since 5 years young fine art-photographer Kristine Thiemann, born in Hamburg, Germany in 1973 has been living in Paris and her job brings her all around the world.

In 1997 Kristine graduated from the Akademie of Photography in Hamburg (APH) and started to work as an assistant in fashion photography.
After 2 years of on set experience in the Hamburg photo studios and all over the world she decided to go to Paris where she opened a small gallery and working space with an artists friend about a year ago.

Nevertheless she never forgot her hometown. For three years she has been working on a project that had as its subject the people of Norderstedt, a small town north of Hamburg. This then led her to an exibition at the “Stadtmuseum Norderstedt” in February ’06.

The exhibition

In her photo series “ Weltstadt Norderstedt” (Norderstedt, a cosmopolitan city) the artists portrays the town and its people with a humoristic and critical point of view in complex and elaborated images.

Her love for detail and her dark humour is also evident in her ”Easter and Christmas cards”, which she’s been producing, wherever she was, for ten years in collaboration with her family and friends.

Playful and interactive is her art piece “SCROBBLE“, an over dimensioned modified version of the scrabble game, in which letters are replaced by photos and words by episodes.
